YOUR HELP IS NEEDED FOR ANNUAL CHC BROCHURE / FUNDRAISING MAILING

The time has come again to send out the annual CHC brochure and fundraising appeal.  This annual mailing highlights the coming concert season for all of our supporters and friends and is also an important part of maintaining community interest and financial support for the Chorale. 

We have a little over 900 letters to send and WE NEED YOUR HELP !

When: Saturday, November 11, 2006:  10:00am-12:00pm
Where: Christ Church, 620 G Street, SE (upper rooms in the Parrish Hall)
Parking Instructions:  Folks can park in the lot behind the church and enter through the back courtyard . The lot can be entered by alley from either G or E Street. Those walking can enter parish hall via side door facing G Street.

Please come and lend a hand to organize mailing materials, stuff envelopes and affix mailing labels and stamps - what fun !!   Refreshments will be provided.

Concert this Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 7:30 pm  at theConcert this Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 7:30 pm  at the Latvian Lutheran Church in Rockville, featuring the Chorale Ensemble “Putni” from Riga, Latvia.  They are on a 10-city tour and they recently  performed live with the chorale group “Tapestry”  on WBGH Boston.

 The Latvian Organizations of Washington, DC (LOV) are sponsoring the concert. 

1993 – 2nd  place – Vocal Ensemble Competition in Tampere, Finland

1994 – 1st place – International  Choir Competition, Kotka, Finland

1995 - Grand Prize and 1st Place -  Kotka, Finland

1996 – 2nd place International Choir Competition. Oskarshamn (Sweden).

 A Free-will offering will be collected at intermission

 ALEXANDRIA CHORAL SOCIETY/ Philip Cave, Artistic Director Sunday, November 19, 2006  4 p.m.   The Alexandria Choral Society, featuring Soprano Rosa  Lamoreaux, opens it’s 37th Season with a Special Tribute to Mozart –Mozart and The Masons.    A Mason for the last 7 years of his life, Mozart composed many works for     Masonic Rites and Rituals.  Some of the Masonic selections that will be performed include the famous motet Ave verum corpus (KV618), the Sancta Maria for mixed choir and orchestra (KV 273) and two Masonic welcome songs. Also in the program, the virtuoso soprano solo Exsultate, Jubilate – Alleluia (KV165) and the Vesperae Solennes de Confessore (KV339) which include the celebrated soprano solo Laudate Dominum
