Shakespeare's greatest musical contemporaries
Performed in the great English Gothic nave of the Washington National Cathedral, this concert celebrates masterpieces by two of Shakespeare's greatest musical contemporaries. Soaring to match the vaulted reaches of the cathedral, William Byrd's magnificent motets for voices are balanced by the intimate intensity of John Dowland's Passionate Pavans for string band and lute. To inaugurate Shakespeare in Washington, the city-wide festival honoring the Bard, there will be songs associated with the plays as well.

Tickets: $28-$40
