James Rogers in Recital 2/8
James Rogers is the Baritone who joined us for the Messiah Singalong.
Friends and fans,
This is just a short line to let you know that I'm giving a recital at eight PM this Thursday night, February the 8th, in Ward Hall on the campus of the Catholic University of America. Accompanying me on the piano will be Andrew Earle Simpson, professor of composition at Catholic University.
The evening will begin with two well-loved standards of the baritone repertoire, Maurice Ravel's "Don Quichotte a` Dulcine'e" and Ralph Vaughan Williams's "Songs of Travel", and continue with an aria from Dr. Simpson's opera "Agamemnon" and selections by Gustav Mahler and Charles Ives. Thursday's recital is an expanded version of the one Dr. Simpson and I gave in September at the Church of the Epiphany's Noontime Concert Series, so you should still come even if you attended that earlier event.
Ward Hall is on the west side of CUA's campus along Harewood Road NE. For more specific directions to campus see http://www.cua.edu/directions/ ; Ward Hall is located at A12 on this pdf map: http://welcome.cua.edu/cuamap.pdf
I hope to see some of you there! Many of you probably have choral commitments on Thursday night, but please pass the word along. Thanks!
James
