Soprano notes 4/24

Not to beat this to death or anything, but, um, come to the Spaghetti Dinner, ok? That's the last time I'm gonna implore you, lest I drive you away with my neediness ;o)

Also, I will start holding 7:00 sectionals before choir for the remaining Tuesday rehearsals of the season. This Tuesday I would like to work on Jubilate and Plaudite to build on the work we did. Each week I will announce what we're going to run through, so if they are pieces you'd like to work on, please come join me. I will also take requests if we have time, but half an hour goes by lightning fast. If you come and can't find us, we are probably in the sanctuary, but I will try to snag a downstairs piano if it's available.

Notes:

Jubilate:
Listen to the midis! You can access them on the members site, or if you really, really don't want to, email me and I will send you the copies Fred gave me directly to you. That's how customer-service oriented I am. Apparently yahoogroups doesn't allow me to send attachments so we're outta luck there.
- m49-50, SIIs take another look at those notes
- m3, SIIs keep the A# high
- m33, clear the "t" before "opera"
- m12, no break in between words
- "opera tua", emphasis on the "tu" not the "a", and make the "t" sound more dental, not so sharp
- m56, starting on a B not a D, don't jump the gun (we seemed to resolve it by the end, but just to keep in mind)
- m70, don't slow down

Plaudite:
- m11, SII rhythm
- m23, F natural
- m21, lift after Dominum
- m20-21, emphasize the moving parts more
- m38, take a look at those notes
- m45, sixteenths include C natural and B natural
- m60, turn the G half note into a G quarter note
- m81, SIs watch Fred and come in on the 2nd beat

Magnificat:
- cresc thru the dots
- m103, m106, take out the "m" in the first "omnes" because it really should be the ending of "generationes"
- p27, m143, SIIs 2nd syllable should be "sit" not "bos"
- don't close off on "en" syllables, and in general sing on vowels not on consonants
- m277, SI finding the G
- m319, SI F#
