CHAW 35th Anniversary Concert Oct 28th, 6pm

From CHAW's Exec Director:

As part of its 35th Anniversary celebration, CHAW is presenting a community concert on Sunday, October 28th, 6 PM, Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, 4th and Independence Avenue SE.  We would love to have you and your friends, colleagues, partners, and families join us in singing "Where Every Voice Is Heard," composed by former CHAW ED Jeffery Watson.  Jeffery's composition is a lovely and joyful affirmation of CHAW's mission statement:  building community through the arts.  As a special treat, he combined adult and children's voices.  Our very own Capitol Hill Youth Chorus will be taking up the children's parts.  There are no auditions, just your interest in participating.  Speaking as a singer, Jeffery has written a musical and accessible composition which is very satisfying to sing.  The rehearsals are listed below.  They are designed to fit flexible schedules -- you need not commit to every one.  As learning assists, we will be offering a recording of the piece for $2.

Monday rehearsals at CHAW with Jeffery Watson, at 7:30 PM-8:45 PM, as follows:

 September 24,
October 1,
October 8,
October 15,
October 22,

Tuesday Rehearsals at St. James' Episcopal Church, 222 8th Street NE (between Constitution and C Streets NE) in the Parish Hall, 7:30-8:15, with Paul Heins, Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington, D.C., and Jeffery Watson

 September 25
October 2
October 16

The dress rehearsal is on Friday, October 26th, 7 PM at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, and participants can anticipate an afternoon call before the concert on October 28th.

Finally, we are interested in musical offerings from faculty, staff, and students to the concert. Be aware that there will be no amplification available.

Please contact me if you want to sing or participate.

Jill
